DLC Not Appearing or Functioning After Purchase
If you have purchased downloadable content (DLC) for V Rising and are unable to locate or access the content in-game, this article will guide you through the proper steps to verify your purchase, understand how DLC content is unlocked, and resolve common visibility issues on both Steam (PC) and Play Station 5.
📘 How Is DLC Content Accessed in V Rising?
In V Rising, most DLC content is cosmetic in nature and designed to unlock progressively as you advance in the game. These items do not appear immediately after purchase but become available once specific gameplay milestones or research stages are completed.
Examples of In-Game Unlocks
- Soul of the Wolf Variant: Becomes available after defeating the Alpha Wolf and unlocking the Wolf Form ability.
- Vampire Form Cosmetics: Once unlocked in gameplay, cosmetic variants can be applied via the Vampire Powers menu.
-
Vampire Horse Cosmetics: Saddle and armor cosmetics can be crafted at the Leatherworking Station and equipped to tamed horses.
📝 Please note: If the base item or ability has not been unlocked through gameplay, the associated cosmetic DLC will not appear until the relevant milestone has been reached.
Steam (PC)
If your DLC does not appear in-game after purchasing through Steam, follow these steps:
Confirm DLC Installation
- Open your Steam Library
- Right-click V Rising and select Properties
- Navigate to the DLC tab
- Ensure the relevant DLC items are listed and checked
If any DLC is unchecked, enable it by selecting the box. Steam may require a brief update to install the content.
- Restart Steam and the Game
After confirming the DLC is enabled:
- Fully restart the Steam client
- Launch V Rising to apply the changes
Verify Game File Integrity (Optional)
If content remains unavailable, verify your local game files:
- Right-click V Rising in your Steam Library
- Select Properties > Installed Files
- Click Verify integrity of game files
Steam will automatically re-download any missing or corrupted files related to your installation or DLC.
PlayStation 5
If you're playing V Rising on PlayStation 5 and your DLC content is not appearing after purchase, it’s possible the console has not correctly synchronized your entitlements with the PlayStation Network. This can occasionally happen due to:
- Network interruptions during or after purchase
- Delayed license verification from the PlayStation Store
- Using multiple user accounts on the same console
- System cache inconsistencies
To resolve this, follow the steps below:
Restore Licenses on PS5
Restoring licenses prompts your console to recheck and re-authorize all digital purchases associated with your PlayStation Network account.
How to Restore Licenses:
- Go to Settings from the PS5 home screen
- Select Users and Accounts
- Navigate to Other
- Choose Restore Licenses
- Once the process is complete, restart your console
- Launch V Rising and check if your DLC is now accessible
This process helps the system revalidate ownership of the DLC, especially if content was purchased while signed into a secondary account or if there was a syncing delay after payment.
- Check Network Connectivity
Ensure your console is connected to the internet and that the PlayStation Network is operational:
- Go to Settings > Network > Test Internet Connection
- Visit PlayStation Network Service Status to confirm PSN is not experiencing outages
Confirm Correct PSN Account Usage
Make sure the account currently signed in to your PS5 is the same account that made the DLC purchase. DLC is tied to your PSN ID, and it will not appear if you’re logged into a different user profile.
Check Game Content from Library
Sometimes DLC must be manually downloaded from the library:
- Highlight V Rising on the home screen
- Press the Options button and select Manage Game Content
- Locate the DLC and verify it’s installed. If not, select it and download
- Optional: Power Cycle and Cache Clear
Performing a power cycle can resolve lingering system cache issues:
- Completely shut down the PS5 (not Rest Mode)
- Unplug the power cable from the back for 30 seconds
- Plug it back in and turn the system on
- Launch V Rising and check again.
- Verifying Your Purchase
Before contacting support, please ensure the following:
- The purchase was successfully completed and confirmed by the platform
- You are logged in to the correct Steam or PlayStation account
- No restrictions (e.g., parental controls, family sharing) are preventing content access
If you purchased the game through an unauthorized key reseller, DLC entitlement may not function as expected.
Note on Unauthorized Resellers
At this time, Stunlock Studios does not officially authorize any third-party key resellers. We recommend purchasing only through Steam, the PlayStation Store, or other officially supported platforms to ensure full access to content and support eligibility.
