In V Rising, player progression is determined not by experience points, but by Gear Level, which is a reflection of the power of the equipment your vampire has equipped. This system determines your ability to survive, engage tougher enemies, and compete in PvP environments.
Current Maximum Gear Level
As of version 1.0, the maximum permanent Gear Level a player can achieve is Level 91. This level is based on equipping the best-in-slot gear available in the game:
Gear Setup to Reach Level 91:
- Dracula’s Shadow Armor Set or equivalent high-end armor
- Legendary Ancestral Weapon (highest quality tier)
- Blood Key or equivalent high-level jewelry piece
When fully equipped with these items, your vampire will reach the maximum standard Gear Level of 91.
Can Gear Level Be Temporarily Increased?
No, as of the full release (version 1.0), there is no longer a way to temporarily exceed Gear Level 91.
Historical Note:
In earlier builds of the game, it was possible to temporarily reach Gear Level 92 by consuming Brute blood with at least 30% blood quality, which provided a temporary boost to physical power. However, this mechanic has since been removed and is no longer applicable in the current version of the game.
What Does Gear Level Affect?
Your Gear Level determines:
- Combat effectiveness against enemies and bosses
- Eligibility for certain encounters and PvP matchups
- Scaling in certain mechanics (e.g., raid balance or spell power)
Each piece of gear directly contributes to your Gear Level. Equipping lower-tier items, even one, will reduce your overall level.
Things to Keep in Mind
- There is no “character level” in V Rising, only your Gear Level matters.
- Consumables, blood type bonuses, and vampire powers improve performance but do not raise your Gear Level.
- Future expansions or updates may increase the Gear Level cap—stay informed via our official news and patch notes.
